A student-owned school is an educational institution or system of institutions that is cooperatively owned and trusted by the students. In addition to holding an equal stake in the lawmaking and hiring decisions of the campus, the student-owned school would also be responsible, if able, for collectively funding the expenditures of the school. Finally, the students would decide on teachers among themselves, or if outside employees should be employed as faculty, with the ability to depose the employees from their positions by majority decision of the students.
