Joseph Stalin or Josef Stalin (18 December 1878 - 5 March 1953) was the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1953. He is known for industrializing the Soviet Union in the 1930s, and defeated Nazi Germany on the Eastern Front during World War II.
