The Green Book is written by the Lybian leader Muammar Abu Minyar al-Qaddafi. It is described as a work of Islamic socialism, however, it is claimed by many critics that it was used to justify the dictatorship by its author.
It consists of 3 parts:
- The Solution of the Problem of Democracy: 'The Authority of the People' (written 1976 January)
- The Solution of the Economic Problem: 'Socialism' (written 1978 February 2)
- The Social Basis of the Third Universal Theory (written 1979 June 1)
