Gaius Julius Severus I

The first Gaius Julius Severus was a Tribune in Legio VI Ferrata between the first and second centuries CE, then and usually settled in Iudaea. He was the older son of Gaius Julius Severus, a Nobleman from Akmonia at Galatia, and paternal grandson of Artemidoros of the Trocmi, a Nobleman at Galatia (son of Amyntas, Tetrarch of the Trocmi, King of Galatia), and his wife a Princess of the Tectosagi (daughter of Amyntas, Tetrarch of the Tectosagi). His older brother was Gaius Julius Bassus, a Proconsul in Bithynia in 98.

He was the father of (Gaius) Julius Quadratus, a Roman Cavalry Officer.

His nephew Gaius Julius Quadratus Bassus, Legate at Iudaea between 102 and 105, Consul of Rome in 105 and Proconsul of Asia in 105, married Asinia Marcella, Domina figl..

Gaius Julius Severus II

The Proconsul of Asia between 152 and 153 was the son of (Gaius) Julius Quadratus, a Roman Cavalry Officer.

He was a descendant of Attalus (of Pergamon), Deiotaros (of Galatia), and (the Tetrarch) Amyntas, as well as cousin of (Gaius) Iulius (Asinius) Quadratus (father of Gaius Asinius Quadratus).
