The first Gaius Julius Severus was a Tribune in Legio VI Ferrata between the first and second centuries CE, then and usually settled in Iudaea. He was the older son of Gaius Julius Severus, a Nobleman from Akmonia at Wikipedia:Galatia, and paternal grandson of Artemidoros of the Wikipedia:Trocmi, a Nobleman at Wikipedia:Galatia (son of Amyntas, Tetrarch of the Trocmi, King of Galatia), and his wife a Princess of the Tectosagi (daughter of Wikipedia:Amyntas, Tetrarch of the Tectosagi). His older brother was Wikipedia:Gaius Julius Bassus, a Wikipedia:Proconsul in Wikipedia:Bithynia in 98.
He was the father of (Gaius) Julius Quadratus, a Roman Cavalry Officer.

The Wikipedia:Proconsul of Asia between 152 and 153 was the son of (Gaius) Julius Quadratus, a Roman Cavalry Officer.
He was a descendant of Attalus (of Pergamon), Deiotaros (of Wikipedia:Galatia), and (the Tetrarch) Amyntas, as well as cousin of (Gaius) Iulius (Asinius) Quadratus (father of Wikipedia:Gaius Asinius Quadratus).
