Victor Serge (1890 in Brussels - 1947 in Mexico City) was a Russian-Polish anarchist. After the Russian revolution in 1917 Serge abandoned his anarchist path and became a Bolshevik-communist in the newly founded Soviet Union. During the 1920:s shattering in the Bolshevik party Serge joined with the leftish opposition for Trotsky, against Stalin. He spent the the years 1933-1936 in Soviet prison. After his releasemant he moved to France where he, once again, became an anarchist, critical to all forms of communism, even though he still defended some of Lenin and Trotskys actions.
