Tunisian self-immolations

In the six months immediately after Mohamed Bouazizi's (WP) death, at least 107 Tunisians tried to kill themselves by setting themselves on fire.[1] The men who self-immolated are mostly young men from poor, rural areas, unmarried and have only basic education.[1] Amenallah Messaadi, who has collated the figures and is head of the Burns Centre, said that people shouldn't glorify the act of self-immolation and "should stop adding fuel to the fire".[1]
