The StraightWay Foundation is a Muslim ex-gay organization based in the UK. They provide information and advice for Muslims that have same-sex attractions. They believe that through following Allah's guidance, one may find success in this life and in the Hereafter. They teach that the male-female pair is the basis for humanity's growth that homosexual acts are forbidden by the Creator.[1] The offer a yahoo support group[2] where Muslims can share feelings and advice with others with same-sex attractions. Advisors specializing in overcoming same-sex attractions also offer advice.[3] It is also important to overcome the gay identity. Muslim identity should come first and any identity that conflicts with the Muslim identity (such as a gay identity) must be overcome.[4] The group has opposed liberal Muslim groups such as the Al-Fatiha Foundation.

In 2005, Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London, ignited controversy when he thanked Straightway for their support for controversial Islamic cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi.[5] Ex-gay watch has also criticized StraightWay for promoting other scholars that advocate the death penalty for homosexual activity.[6] American ex-gay organizations have wrote favorably of them.[7]
