Joseph Jean-Marie Tortelier

Joseph Jean‑Marie Tortelier (died 1925 December 1) was a carpenter, anarcho-syndicalist, ardent proponent and speaker for the General Strike, Tortelier organized “The League of Antipatriots” (with Emile Bidault), to fight militarism, the wars it leads to, along with its corollary, patriotism. Also organized the “League of Antipropriétaires.” Along with Peter Kropotkin and Elise Reclus, Tortelier was instrumental in influencing the socialist Sébastien Faure to become an anarchist.
