Heinrich Mann (1871 March 27 (Lübeck) — 1950) was a German writer, a brother of Thomas Mann.

Attacks on militarism, nationalism, and the authoritarian social structure of German society led to his exile in 1933 to the United States of America. Studied bookbinding & tried also a career as an artist. His best known novel Professor Unrat, a story of a professor destroyed by his passion to be a night-club singer, has been filmed many times, but best known version is Der Blaue Engel (The Blue Angel), directed by Joseph Von Sternberg, featuring Marlene Dietrich.
