vicarious autotheism

Vicarious autotheism is the mindset in which an individual egotistically perceives oneself as a god, and projects that ego externally, such that one refers to one's deified self ('God') as if one is external to oneself. This is the mindset of people who support particular social rules under the claim that said rules are the will of the [non-existent] god, and they will answer for it in the next life.
