taboo subject

Taboo subject is the subject that is not allowed to be discussed in a particular community. The enforcement of the silence can be acomplished by the lack of participation in the discussion, peer pressure, vigilante violence, police enforecement, etc. Reasons for the subjects to be taboo can often be religious.
