Wikipedia articles may be deleted without open discussion; the only significant requirement, that the Proposed Deletion tag is left on the article for seven days, during which time, editors that happen to see the tag can contest the tag or remove it, whereupon it can be brought to Articles for Deletion. If kept at AfD, the whole process can start all over again; there are no procedural limits to this double jeopardy, except for practical ones. The process relies entirely on the large number of WP editors, but articles on minority subjects fall through the cracks all the time. See Wikipedia:Wikipedia:PROD
