Mark Mirabello Ph.D is a professor of history at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio. Mirabello's area of expertise is obscure history not often emphasized in mainstream academia.

Mirabello holds a doctorate in European Intellectual History from the University of Glasgow and has worked as a visiting associate professor at Nizhny Novgorod State University in Russia. He teaches courses about:

In 1990, Mirabello won the Shawnee State University "Bear Hug" award and was voted by students as the school's most popular professor. Mirabello gives an annual Halloween lecture as part of University "Scare Week" entitled "Occult Esoterica: Some Legends and Spells for Halloween". In 2005, he served as a member of the Asian History Faculty Search Committee at SSU and is a Faculty Advisor for the Other World Society. Recently he delivered a paper on “Neo-paganism and Conspiracy Theory” at the Popular Culture and American Culture Association Convention in San Diego, California. Mirabello is also a Kentucky colonel.
