Inka Grings (born 1978 October 31 in Düsseldorf) is a football player for FCR 2001 Duisburg of Germany's women's first division. She plays the position of striker.

Along with Birgit Prinz, Grings is one of the most prolific goalgetters for the German national team. She has played in 60 games for Germany, scoring 39 goals. In 1999, she was chosen as Germany's female Football Player of the Year. In 2005, she won the European Championship with Germany after winning the Bronze Medal with Germany at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

Personal life

Grings is bisexual. She had romantic relationships with her female team colleagues Martina Voss and Linda Bresonik and also dated male VfL Wolfsburg trainer Holger Fach. Grings' relationship with Voss had an especially bitter end. When the two broke up shortly before the 2000 Olympic Games, German national squad trainer Tina Theune-Meyer threw Voss (who was the team captain at the time) out of the team, fearing that the personal tension would doom the team spirit. Voss never played an international game for Germany again. [1]
