In traditional Buddhist cosmology, the four higher realms are four of the ten spiritual realms.

They consist of:

  • spiritual discipleship aka Sravaka-yana
  • spiritual self-awakening aka Pratyekabuddha-yana
  • attaining enlightenment for oneself and others aka Bodhisattva-yana
  • total enlightenment beyond self and other aka Buddha-yana
