four higher realms

In traditional Buddhist cosmology, the four higher realms are four of the ten spiritual realms.
They consist of:
- spiritual discipleship aka Sravaka-yana
- spiritual self-awakening aka Pratyekabuddha-yana
- attaining enlightenment for oneself and others aka Bodhisattva-yana
- total enlightenment beyond self and other aka Buddha-yana
