There is a tenuous logical link between paranormal studies and epistemology (Category:Concepts in epistemology) : namely, the third of Arthur C. Clarke's three laws. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." In this sense, aspects of the universe too tenuous to measure or otherwise beyond our understanding will be at odds with current scientific understanding. Doesn't mean one should start believing in everything, though, necessarily.
