Mohammed Dib (born 1920 July 20) is a prolific Algerian French-language novelist, short story writer, and poet. Many of Dibʼs novels present archetypal characters who represent contrasting forces in society — good and evil. Wrote the trilogy Algérie (1952 — 1954), examining the plight of the poor peasants and workers. His poetry explores old myths and inner layers of consciousness.
