Arguments

The four affirmations of Shinto include the love of nature and physical cleanliness. Believers should respect animals as messengers of Gods. (1) Shintoism stresses fertility and purity with harvest festivals and offerings made of rice and fruit (2). Despite this Vegetarianism is not promoted in Shintoism
