Muhammad Hussein Ali Hassan is a citizen of Wikipedia:Morocco who was held in Wikipedia:extrajudicial detention in the Wikipedia:United States Wikipedia:Guantanamo Bay detention camps, in Wikipedia:Cuba.[1] His Guantanamo Wikipedia:Internment Serial Number is 123. Wikipedia:Joint Task Force Guantanamo Wikipedia:counter-terrorism analysts report he was born on December 16, 1966, in Selwan, Morocco.
Muhammad Hussein Ali Hassan was transferred to Morocco on February 7, 2006.[2]

Combatant Status Review Tribunal[edit]
Initially the Bush Presidency asserted that they could withhold all the protections of the Wikipedia:Geneva Conventions to captives from Wikipedia:the war on terror. This policy was challenged before the Judicial branch. Critics argued that the USA could not evade its obligation to conduct Wikipedia:competent tribunals to determine whether captives are, or are not, entitled to the protections of Wikipedia:prisoner of war status.
Subsequently the Department of Defense instituted the Wikipedia:Combatant Status Review Tribunals. The Tribunals, however, were not authorized to determine whether the captives were lawful combatants -- rather they were merely empowered to make a recommendation as to whether the captive had previously been correctly determined to match the Bush Presidency's definition of an Wikipedia:enemy combatant.
Summary of Evidence memo[edit]
A Summary of Evidence memo was prepared for Muhammad Hussein Ali Hassan's Combatant Status Review Tribunal, on 28 September 2004.[3] The memo listed the following allegations against him:
- a. The detainee is a member of the Taliban:
- Detainee, a Moroccan, went to Afghanistan in 2000 to fight jihad.
- Detainee was trained on the use of the Kalishnikov rifle for 1-2 weeks and then was assigned to the Rabeii position on the line.
- Detainee was captured on 1 November 2001. He surrendered to coalition allies at Mazar-E-Sharif.
- b. The detainee participated in military operations against the coalition.
- Detainee was in the rear in Kabul and advanced as Taliban forces advanced.
