1861 -- Arvid Järnefelt lives. Finnish writer, pacifist, lawyer & farmer, influenced by anarchist Leo Tolstoy's Christian thinking & philosophy.
1871 -- France: Élisée Reclus is sentenced for his role in the Paris Commune; famed geographer & anarchist Source: Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th edition, page 957.

1895 -- France: Premier issue of French weekly newspaper "Le libertaire," founded by Sébastien Faure & Louise Michel.
1897 -- England: Released from Reading Gaol, Oscar Wilde writes his friend Robert Ross:

- wrecks the failure. In old days half of my strength was my

1938-- Spain: the Republican army of Catalonia, made up of anarchist & communist forces, is defeated after three months by pro-Franco forces, leaving tens of thousands of casualties & dead.
1942 -- Australia: The murder of the Italian-Australian anarchist Fransesco Fantin in an internment camp at the hands of fascists.
1952 -- Roman Delgado (1894-1952) dies. Spanish-Mexican anarchist, who emigrated to America at 16 & joined a Magoniste group in San Antonio, Texass. Active with anarchist groups in Mexico City until his death.
1966 -- "Poverty of Student Life" printed by University of Strasbourg students sympathetic to situationists -- blows the whole years student government budget, causing a huge scandal. This pamphlet remains in print in numerous languages ever since.
2001 -- US: Protesters gather for three days demanding the shutdown of the American terrorist training camp, the School of the Americas, Fort Benning, Georgia. Making the world safe for Haliburton & Banana pie.
