Podcast or podcasting is an non-real-life audio Internet distribution system or an act of producing it. It can be visualised as a blog-Internet radio, audio files are posted after being produced and are available for download from then onwards.
The term came from the iPod which was commonly used to listen to the podcasts.
The way podcasts get synchronised is by means of an XML document being updated with the related information about the episode and where to download it from.
