Ze Whiz Kidz

Jump to: navigation, search

Ze Whiz Kids was a drag queen, cabaret, and performance art group in Seattle in the mid-1970s. Tomata du Plenty, a veteran of the San Francisco drag troupe The Cockettes, was a founding member of Ze Whiz Kidz.

The first Whiz Kidz show was a musical based on the life of Yma Súmac.

Several early West Coast punk bands emerged out of the breakup of Ze Whiz Kidz. Tomata du Plenty and Melba Toast (Tommy Gear) went on to found The Tupperwares (later The Screamers), while Satin Sheets (J. Satz Baret) went on to form The Knobs (later The Lewd).
