Walt Woodward

Walt Woodward (1910 — 2001 March 13) was an exemplary publisher/editor of the Bainbridge Review from 1940 to 1961 in Washington State, he opposed Japanese internment during World War II, the only newspaper on the West Coast with principle and backbone to do so — a stance which cost him subscribers and advertising revenue in this small island community.

He has inspired the main character in David Gutersonʼs novel, Snow Falling in Cedar
