Talk:Equality (mathematics)
Dump
I have no idea what happens next, and I cease to care. The following may or may not be true. It is not only quite possible to use arithmetic (mathematical operations) and still have no idea what is behind them (mathematical theory), it is the norm. I am not quite a mathematician, but that is ok, I get to retain the use of my brain for writing.
The articles written on mathematics are quite the worst on WP for entry level reading; all experts in their field writing for Wikis feel that everyone ought to be keeping up with them or...learning about it somewhere else? and so only bother with wiki content that up to their meta-game standards ( http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion_talk:Houses/Archive_2#Scripted_NPCs , other scattered comments on that site, comments on FFXIclopedia, etc etc ad nauseum), but mathematicians may well be bad at writing as well (left brain vs right brain?) 1 / 1.069131994 = 0.935338204, so
.935 times (perihelion energy) = aphelion energy. 6.5% less light intensity at aphelion than at perihelion. Aphelion intensity is 93.5% of perihelion.
The percentages are different because when we are stating a percentage, we are not actually stating the difference between near and far intensities, we are stating the ratio between near and far intensities. The difference stays the sameThe near intensity is a smaller number; The difference between the numbers is actually the same....-crash and burn-
