1806 -- "Lord" Timothy Dexter, classic American crackpot, dies.

1876 -- Biófilo Panclasta lives (1876 or 1979?-1942) Chinácota, Colombia. Poet, agitator, one of the more original of the individualistic Latin American anarchists.

1886 -- Justin Olive (1886-1962) lives. French militant anarchist & revolutionary syndicalist.

1913 -- José Ester Borrás (1913-1980) lives. Spanish anarchist, arrested by the communists in Spain, then the Nazis in France. Active in the resistance in France & in the Mauthausen concentration camp, & co-founder of the Spanish Federation of Former Political prisoners & camp inmates & later helped free Spanish prisoners held in Russia until the 1950s.

1956 -- Hungary: Russian tanks fire on unarmed demonstrators in Budapest. Armed resistance begins in industrial centers, general strike begins, & state power disrupted as power is now in the factories & the streets.

1996 -- Aurelio Chessa (1913-1996), anarchist, dies, Rapallo. Militant des GIA & infatigable animateur de l'Archivio Famiglia Berneri repris avec talent aujourd'hui par sa fille Fiamma.

1998 -- Dick Higgins (1938-1998) dies in Quebec City, Canada. Fluxus artist. Printer, publisher, Higgins studied with the anarchist/composer John Cage .
