Elizabeth Stuart (theologian)

Dr Elizabeth Stuart is a leading UK theologian specialising in Queer Theology.

Academic Positions[edit]

She is Professor of Christian Theology at the University of Winchester and was founding chair of the Centre for the Study of Christianity and Sexuality. She co-edits the academic journal Theology and Sexuality.

Miscellany[edit]

She has a Jack Russell terrier called "Arthur" who is the toast of the campus.

Her grandfather is Ronald Neil Stuart, VC.

Bishop[edit]

Professor Stuart was consecrated as a Bishop in the Open Episcopal Church (a small, independent grouping within the United Kingdom, whos mother church is The Reformed Liberal Catholic Church (Old Catholic) ) with the title "The Right Reverend Professor Elizabeth Stuart ssb B.A. (Hons), M.A., D. Phil., Dip Pastoral Care. Presiding Bishop of the Diocese of Great Britain & Ireland".

Bishop Stuart has since left 'The Open Episcopal Church' and is now Archbishop for the British Province of the Liberal Catholic Church International and besides a membership of the Theosophical Society, she currently is a member of Le Droit Humaine, International Co-Freeemasonry and was last time I checked, a student of "The Servants of The Light" course based in Jersey.
