Eastern Front (World War II)
From Anarchopedia
The Eastern Front of World War II was the front during World War II which occupied most of Eastern Europe. The two belligerents, Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, began fighting in June 1941 and did not cease until April 1945. In the beginning, the German army enjoyed spectacular successes, but after the winter of 1941 devastated the poorly-prepared German army, the Soviets began to gain the advantage. By 1944 the frontlines had gone from almost at Moscow to almost at Berlin. In April 1945 the Soviets captured Berlin and thus ended the Eastern Front of World War II.
