The concert was the biggest ever of its kind in India. It also made a bold statement with a legendary band such as Iron Maiden to visit the country well within their prime years, paving the way for more rock acts to follow soon. Bruce Dickinson(the band's vocalist) exemplified it further by promising the fans of the band that they would be back well before the end of 2008 after the rousing reception they themselves did not expect. Iron Maiden were supported by FTN,Parikrama and Lauren Harris. This was also the very first time where Parikrama played an all original set list in their long list of live performances. Another first in the long list of records set during the memorable night was Lauren Harris (daughter of the Iron Maiden bassist,Steve Harris) who became the first female rock singer to perform as a live act in the country. Amongst the many thousands were fans from Bangladesh, Nepal, Singapore, Pakistan, Thailand and other neighbouring countries who travelled to India to see Iron Maiden. Many fans complained of the poor quality of sound setup, which was nowhere adequate to handle a crowd of over 30,000. But to the fans, seeing Maiden in India more than made up for it.

There have already been talks of EDDFEST 2, which will take place in 2008 when Iron Maiden come to India as part of their Golden Years Tour. It is still not known whether it will take place at The Bangalore Palace Grounds or in Mumbai.
