I feel this is useful because Categories are for navigation, and it is a shortcut with a practicality to get to information quickly, that the godlike perspective of Cat:Fundamental does not have. Cat:F says, in a booming disembodied voice: "I see you mortals...I think I shall call what you are doing...Nature. Yes, Nature.", whereas Core assumes one has a more focused place to be, and gets right down to Earth and scientists and tells one exactly what the areas are that they are studying.
