Camunic language
Camunic is an extinct language of unknown classification that was used by the Camunni tribe, which dwelled in Val Camonica, in what is now northern Italy. The Etruscan and Rhaetic languages may be related in some way to Camunic language.
Examples of the Camunic language are most often found written on rocks. 70 examples, all dating to the first millenium BCE, are known. The Old Italic Alphabet was the alphabet used by the Camunic language.
It is believed that the Camunic language died out due to the spread of the Latin language some time in the first millenium BCE. The Latin language, which destroyed many unique and varied lingual families throughout Europe, was the language of the Roman Empire.
