Many lifestyle anarchists would argue that self-liberation is essential to revolution. This usually involves freeing oneself from the constraints of modern society such as needing money to survive. Key to this is leaving wage work, arranging a living situation in which one does not have to pay rent (such as in squatting), and acquiring essentials such as food and clothing for free (such as through dumpster diving, shoplifting, or producing the essentials yourself).
