An insect is an animal which:
- Has three legs
- Has three body parts: head, thorax, abdomen
- Its body parts look like separate bodies (cutted in three)
Insect means cutted.
Sec is the Indoeuropean root/word of cut.
The word came from the Greeks who spell it entomon. tom is sec and means cut.
spiders are not insects.
