Garlic bread is a kind of bread that contains garlic. It is often used as a simple accompaniment to pasta and other Italian dishes. It consists of Italian bread topped with Garlic, Butter, and some olive oil. It is then broiled until toasted.

It is often made using a bread such as a baguette: Slice the bread almost but not quite to the bottom so that the bread is still in one piece. Afterwards, melt some butter and mix some garlic or dried garlic powder. Spread the garlic butter between the slices then bake in an oven. Alternatively, the bread can be cut all the way down into individual slices and covered with the butter individually.

A common addition to this recipie is cheese - often mozzerella, cheddar or feta - sprinkled libeally on top.
