A constitutional monarchy is any government in which a monarch acts as the head of state but must act within the parameteres set by a constitution. The first recorded constitutional monarchy is England after the passing of The Magna Carta. Today there are severeal constitutional monarchies still operating including Sweden, Denmark, Canada, India, and Australia.
