The Scare is a Hardcore Punk Rock band from Washington, D.C.. , consisting of past and current members of Affront, Good Clean Fun, The Goons, and At Best. Begun in 2004, the Scare are aesthetically influenced by Horror Movies, Macabre fiction, and generally dark art.

They've recorded songs for their E.P., Snakes Among Saints, and a Split 7" with Lawnchair Records labelmates, Devotion to Trust, from Sweden; at Black House Studios (owned and operated by Issa Diao of Good Clean Fun, and Ken Olden, of Battery, Better Than a Thousand, Damnation A.D., and When Tigers Fight), during the summer of 2005, with Kenny McClure.

They were signed to Lawnchair Records, a Sweden-based record label.

Currently, they are working on a Split 7" CD\EP with the Phantom Pains, for Mankind Records. They plan to release a full length in 2007 with Mankind Records.

They have spent 2006 playing with bands, such as Strike Anywhere, Hawthorne Heights, The Business, BANE, Brain Failure, Modern Life is War, Go It Alone, Ceremony, AFI, Stretch Arm Strong, Ruiner, Nothington, Thought Riot, and many more...
