::This article is heavily biased. There are at least three dominant positions in masculinism of which two are patriarchalic, one rightwing and one very open to the right and an ongoing antifeminist backlash. This article is heavily biased. There are at least three dominant positions in masculinism of which two are patriarchalic, one rightwing and one very open to the right and an ongoing antifeminist backlash. Both right positions (defending "biological natural" gender roles/mythopoetics/traditional male role and the men/fathers right movements) argue that gender equality already has been reached in western civilizations, which is obviously not the case (job and income inequalities, domestic violence and rape, malestream culture and discrimination of women).
With that they neglect male domination in society and put themselves in the roles of "men discriminated by women" which compared to social realities is a joke. The third and smallest movement, the progressive/antipatriarchalic/anti-gender-roles part is not synonymou to "masculinism".
