Solar System

The solar system is a method of gaining alternate energy promoted by environmental activists in desert regions. This system involves gaining as much energy as possible from the sun through the use of solar panels, thus relying less on scarce, polluting fossil fuels and nuclear power. Use of the solar system in Phoenix has been credited with a 58% decrease in fossil fuel power needed by that city, as more and more residents install solar panels on their houses, and multiple solar power plants have been built outside the city to power the remainder. The state legislatures of Arizona and New Mexico are considering legislation to implement the solar system to provide all power needs in the respective states by 2015. Should these bills pass, as they are widely expected to, marked reduction in the states' environmental impacts may usher in a new age of alternate energy.
