Food Not Bombs (FNB) is an anarchist organization which serves free food often in public places in protest of militarism.

FNB is sometimes called a "franchise anarchist organization", because Food Not Bombs and other organizations like it have formed all over the world. FNB is a more akin to an idea than an decentralized organization.

FNB got its name from graffiti which read "money for food, not for bombs". The group has four main tenants:

  1. vegetarianism, All food served should have no meat, dairy or eggs.
  2. food recycling, dumpster diving.
  3. consensus decision making. Any decision made by the group needs to be "consented" by the entire group.
  4. non-violence

There are other organizations with similar names that have formed with a similar organizational structure:

Homes Not Jails - A squatter organization. Bikes Not Bombs Food Not Lawns - A guerilla gardening group.
