Nehemiah Wright (February 20, 1824 – January 29, 1891)[2] was a founding member of Wikipedia:Phi Alpha Literary Society.[3][4][5][6][7][8]
Wright was born in Ashland, New Hampshire. He moved to Illinois at the age of 18 and attended Wikipedia:Illinois College in 1845. He was a founding member of Phi Alpha Literary Society, and was on the three man committee that prepared its constitution.[9] While active he served as the society's second recording secretary.[10] Wright married Frances L. Huckins in 1849, and together they had 3 children.[11] Wright then moved to Wikipedia:Chatham, Illinois on January 10, 1850.[12] In 1865 he earned an M.D. degree from Wikipedia:Rush Medical College in Chicago. In 1872 he was elected county physician of Wikipedia:Sangamon County, Illinois.[13] He was well known for his literary talent, and presented a well received poem at Phi Alpha's May 1876 reunion.[14][15]
