The Revolutionary Workers Headquarters split from the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA (RCP-USA) in 1978. The group split over several issues. One was China - the RCP supported the so-called Gang of Four while the Revolutionary Workers Headqurters (RWH) supported Hua Kuofeng. RWH also felt the RCP was becoming too ultra-left, and was not involved in mass movements in the United States. RWH merged with other groups to form the Freedom Road Socialist Organization in 1985.
