Cowboy refers to a stereotypical man from widwestern America. A typical depiction of a cowboy is of a person that wears a cowboy hat and chaps, rides a horse, and works as a rancher. While cowboys did exist at one time, it was a relatively short period in American history, and most cowboys are merely stereotypes.
