The Communist Party of Nepal (Unity Centre) was formed from a merger of the Communist Party of Nepal (Mashal-CC), Communist Party of Nepal (Fourth Convention), Proletarian Labor Organization and a faction of the Communist Party of Nepal (Mashal-COC) in 1990. In 1995, a faction left the group and founded the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).
