The October League was founded by some members of the Students for a Democratic Society RYM II faction in Los Angeles in 1969. In May of 1972, the Georgia Communist League dissolved into the October League and the October League became a national organization.
In June 1977, the October League transformed into the Communist Party, Marxist-Leninist.
