Bisexuality is having the emotional and/or physical capacity to have a sexual attraction to both male and female members of the same species. Thus a bisexual person can be drawn to a male or female without much or any regard as to their genitalia. For some it is an equal 50-50 and for some they may have a slight preference towards either gender on a seven-point sliding scale known as the Kinsey Scale. Attraction can also include hermaphrodites but this is not always the case.

It is not true that bisexuals are promiscuous by nature Although some people blame bisexuals for breaking up families and spreading AIDS, it is generally not more so than for homosexual or heterosexual people. Bisexuals are as capable of monogamous relationships as heterosexuals or homosexuals, marriages with someone of the opposite gender, or the same gender where laws permit.
