Green Anarchist is a magazine which criticizes civilization. Civilization is seen as the root of exploitation of mass society. Civilization is viewed responsible for creating specialization and division of labour, and this specialization and division of labour form hierarchies to maintain the complex system of techno-industrial mass society. The Green Anarchist states: "Civilisation alienates us from the Earth using nationhood and property law. We must take back the land and living self-sufficiently, re-establishing our relationship with the Earth". Thus it seeks to abolish civilization.
