Mihail Bulgakov (Russian Михаил Булгаков) (born 1891 May 3 in Kiev, Ukraine) was a journalist, playwright, novelist, and short story writer, whose major work, The Master and Margarita, was published posthumously in the Soviet Union in 1966-67 in a censored form. The bookʼs chief character, accompanied by a talking black tomcat, wreaks havoc throughout literary Moscow. (May 15th, New Style).
