Grunge music or Seattle Sound was a style of rock music popular in the early 1990's. It was characterized by heavy use of distorted electric guitars, its stop and start song style and changing song dynamics. Born in Seattle it became the most popular form of music in the 90's until the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain on April 8 1994.
