Why do we need Simultaneous Policy for Public Awareness ?

Many claim that the internet will change the world. The internet already provides cheap, convenient communication, but it's not what they mean. Something more is around the corner.

The corporate media use smoke around certain subjects. Entertainment (which they are good at) and a huge amount of noise divert attention and confuse people. The fundamental scoring system of our society is the monetary system and tax system (together). The amount and composition of smoke and noise around these is incredible, an art of its own.

More and more thinkers realize that monetary system and tax system MUST be changed to avoid a near-future ecological collapse that could mark a painful end to our civilization.

To make a difference, a critical mass is needed. Most activists, when understanding one of the big problems, quickly learn that with traditional methods it's extremely difficult to get people act on, or even just understand the problem, or even just to listen. To reach the critical mass, an amplification system is needed.

Amplification methods

  • viral meme
  • trojan carriers (acting simultaneously)

Viral meme A well crafted set of crosslinking multimedia materials

  • websites
  • videos
  • presentations

that transmit a message, interesting, easy to pick up and retransmit, so it spreads like a virus. Must be suitable to neutralize professionally engineered and widespread bastard memes (of same subject, part of the smoke and noise)

Trojan carrier

John Bunzl invented the [Policy (SP)] as a method to overcome mock-democracy and give global social and environmental concerns a chance to be represented and potentially make a real difference. The method proposed herein is a straightforward application of SP to raise public awareness itself.

Information dissemination is extremely centralized. Even on the internet, many people tend to get information mostly from corporate portals often feeding from the same sources as the TV and news. Individuals who run these are not, in general, evil or stupid. Many of them, when presented with the proper picture, will be able to judge what's more realistic and what is myth. At least many of them will be willing to ask educated questions. "Loudly" (in a way it will reach many people)

  • small group of commited individuals set up a collaboration method (cripto-portal). Some contributors will be more in multimedia-art, others might like the infotech side, some might help info spreading just for the fun of it. After all we just create a global, historical flash-mob !
  • collect target carriers: hundred+ journalists, writers, editors, politicians, teachers, actors, sportsmen, bloggers, content providers, website administrators who can assumedly impact the junctions of information dissemination centers
  • craft the subject as most appropriate for target carriers. Might be educated questions, referring to the background meme-set (videos, presentations, etc...)
  • inform the carriers and motivate them to provide feedback, and negotiate potential method of dissemination
    • give them all the tech-help, including pseudonyms, protected communication channels, and plausable deniability. Make it convenient and straighforward
  • propose a date of simultaneous action. To friendly carriers, quite in advance.
    • unfriendly ones need not be informed in advance. Uncertain might be informed a bit later, than friendly ones
    • avoid revealing the carriers to each other. Techies will invent genious ways how it can be done with "minimal knowledge". Even the team participants need not know more than their share. This way risks can be minimized for max yield
  • action !
    • might be as innocent as letting through an educated question or advertisement (from an involved pseudonymous "reader") to be published in their media. Might be an on-air phonecall for radio, TV. Reader's letters in newspapers, magazines or RSS feed.

Than reiterate. Analyze efficiency and improve. Fork if necessary. Don't give up ! Forking is reasonable when different set of material is believed to be more appealing to certain subset of target carriers and hosts. As volume is catching up, growing amount of resources become available. There is certainly room for healthy competition: crafting multimedia material.

The power of SP is obvious. Editors might feel inconvenient to act alone. Acting simultaneously adds redundancy and safety. It would be silly to retaliate, as retaliation itself could be used as a strong "watch-here" that could and would be used to catch public attention.

Why boost the power of SP ?

  • SP, though a genious concept, needs support from other technologies. Viral memes were successfully used to build a global misconception. They will help to dismantle it as well. Memes that properly explain what people sense (fraudulent money creation loans => debt, political corruption and injustice), if presented well, it will defeat the bastard memes that can be shown to contradict reality.
  • elections are rare and happen at different times in different countries. By using SP for public awareness, the loop time is drastically reduced

With some help from internet technology, viral meme + torjan carrier combined are suitable to start the avalanche to achieve public awareness. During each iteration, a more refined set of memes will be transmitted via a broader range of trojan carriers, using continuously improving internet technology reaching a wider mass of potential hosts. Awakening to the mass-manipulation (being deceived their whole life), might be shocking to most at first, presented in a certain way will give power and motivation to use this technique they never thought as necessary before. Gin is still in the bottle. When she comes out, the real potential of internet will show up.

Internet technology - out of scope here, only a few words

Activists will face a few technical surprises when trying to spread information that the most wealthy tries to suppress. Just to mention a few:

  • forum trolls - need to mention wikipedia.org ?
  • spam filters - might be more powerful than you think
  • network fragmentation - Chinese firewall
  • https and co-hosting with popular sites could help a LOT
  • even IP level reachability problems might arise
  • biased search engines

This will most likely dull the first attempts. Don't give up, take this as a challenge. Cipherpunks are already working on it, just naming a few (list is arbitrary, incomplete)
